Mayor Pellegrini called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

The Clerk confirmed a quorum was present.

The Clerk advised there is an item added to Section 16 - By-laws - By-law 2024-056 - Authorize a Municipal Funding Agreement between the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and the Township of King.

The Clerk advised correspondence has been received and circulated prior to this evening's Council meeting for Items 9.10 - Torca King Inc. (Mansions of King) Pre-Servicing Agreement, and 10.1.3 - Community Services Department Memorandum - Nobleton Community Hall.

Mayor Pellegrini advised this is the last Council Meeting prior to the summer break and went on to comment on recent happenings and upcoming community events in the Township of King, being: June is Parks and Recreation Month, summer camp registration, adult summer recreation programs, King Township Public Library summer programs, outdoor play parks in the Township, trail maintenance and off-leash dog parks, reservation of outdoor picnic shelters, King receiving the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, King Township Heritage Award nominations, and employment opportunities in King Township.

Mayor Pellegrini and Members of Council recognized Dr. Paul Randall for over 40 years of health care service to the King community. Council presented Dr. Randall with a gift and wished him all the best in this new chapter of his life.

Altaf Stationwala, CEO, Mackenzie Health provided a slide presentation overview on Mackenzie Health over the past sixty (60) years.

    1. That Council authorize the cessation of train whistling at three public grade crossings in the Township of King: Station Road, Dufferin Street, and 15th Sideroad.
    2. That Council enact By-law 2024-051, being a by-law to prohibit the use of train whistles at specified railway/roadway crossings situated within the boundaries of the Township of King.
    3. That the Township Clerk send a copy of this resolution and By-law 2024-051 to Metrolinx, the Regional Municipality of York, all relevant associations and organizations, and Transport Canada's Rail Safety Directorate headquarters subject to final acceptance by the relevant approval authorities of the crossing safety upgrades for the public grade crossings as listed above.

    2. That the request from Schomberg Brew Works Inc. regarding its application to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) for a “By-the-Glass” endorsement to sell and serve their products for consumption at its manufacturing site at 203 Main Street, Unit 1C, be approved.
    3. That the Township Clerk be authorized to execute the Municipal Information for Retail Store Authorization.
    4. That the Township Clerk send a copy of this resolution to Schomberg Brew Works Inc. for inclusion with their application.

    2. That the Application for Tile Loan, attached as Appendix A, under the Tile Drainage Act submitted by A R Homes Inc. for the property municipally known as 325 Lipchey Road, be approved.
    3. That Borrowing By-law 2024-053, to authorize the borrowing of funds for the Tile Drain Loan Program, be enacted.
    4. That Council request the Regional Municipality of York to approve the loan and issue the debenture on behalf of the Township of King.
    5. That staff bring forward a Ratings By-law at a future meeting of Council to impose a special annual drainage rate upon land in respect of which money is borrowed under the Tile Drainage Act.
    6. That the Mayor and Clerk and/or Treasurer be authorized to execute any documents to give effect to these recommendations.
